Laser alignment
In addition to detecting poor alignment using vibration measurement, we can also align the machines for you, regardless of the type of machine or setup involved.
We use laser technology to measure the alignment quality across couplings and flanges on machines. We adjust with high precision and finish with an alignment measurement report and vibration measurement.
Prevent premature rental damage with laser alignment
Poor alignment, also known as misalignment in technical terms, between two machine parts causes damage to bearings, gaskets, shafts and couplings. It is estimated that approximately 50 per cent of machine failures are caused by misalignment.
Laser alignment enables high-precision alignment, thereby increasing the service life of the machine and its components. Misalignment causes increased load and forces on the bearings. If the load and thus the forces affecting the bearing are increased by just 20%, this can halve the service life of the bearing.
Increased product quality and reliability
Alignment errors and vibrations can cause reduced quality in the products manufactured in many industries. By reducing unwanted vibrations on the machine and performing precision alignment, it is possible to optimise product quality.
Increasing the reliability of rotating machinery also reduces downtime. More uptime at the plant essentially means that production can be increased.
Save 3-8 % on energy consumption
The rotational forces that arise as a result of an alignment error will generate vibrations and friction between the shaft and bearing. In addition to reducing the service life of the bearing itself, friction will increase and the motor will consume more energy.
By performing high-precision alignment with lasers, it is possible to save between 3-8% in energy consumption, which represents significant savings on larger engines.
Let our measurement technician take a look
Our experienced and professional measurement technicians can perform high-precision alignment for you, regardless of what time of day your machines and production are able to stand still. An alignment task is completed with a measurement report and vibration measurement so that we can document that the plant is running flawlessly.
