Ventilation systems and fans

Save money by performing vibration measurement and balancing on ventilation systems and fans.

Vibration measurement on ventilation systems

The most common causes of breakdowns in ventilators and ventilation systems are usually:

These faults all have one thing in common: vibrations increase, as does the temperature of the bearings. It is therefore advantageous to monitor the condition of the fans to avoid unexpected breakdowns.

There are two options for vibration measurement on this type of plant:

  1. Online vibration measurement that continuously measures where a sensor is permanently installed on the plant.
  2. Offline vibration measurement with a handheld vibration meter, performed at fixed intervals.

We have our own PLC. Can we connect the equipment to our PLC so that we avoid having multiple systems for data collection?

With an HS530 module, it is possible to send two electrical signals to a PLC, in this case 0-10V. The electrical signal is converted and filtered so that it is proportional to the vibrations. The two signals are:

1. Signal proportional to RMS velocity (10-1000Hz) – For alignment and imbalance detection
2. Signal proportional to Envelope acceleration (500-5000Hz) – For bearing faults

There is also a BNC output signal, which allows you to connect one of our handheld measuring instruments if you want to perform more advanced vibration measurement and analysis.
*The HS530 module requires 24 V DC.

Balancing flue gas extractors and ventilation systems

We offer on-site balancing of flue gas extractors and ventilation systems and are ready to respond at any time. The system must be started and stopped a few times in connection with the balancing of larger systems.

We always recommend cleaning the blades first to reduce any imbalance that may be caused by dust and dirt.

We perform balancing in accordance with standards and always conclude a task with a report so that the result of the residual imbalance can be documented.
