We offer Condition Based Maintenance for the marine industry. With vibration measurement, you can avoid unexpected breakdowns at sea.

At TME Solutions, our keyword is SECURITY, and we want to give our customers the feeling that they know the condition of their equipment so that there are no unexpected surprises.

In recent years, vibration measurement has proven to be the most recognised and effective way to check the condition of components. With vibration measurement, we can detect faults at a very early stage, so that the right measures can be taken and spare parts ordered. No unexpected sudden surprises or breakdowns, and you avoid replacing components that are not faulty.

That is why we have tailored a range of solutions and “packages” for our customers in the maritime industry.

Vibration measurement – Part of your maintenance

All machines generate vibrations that contain important information about the condition of the machine. To measure vibrations, we use a sensor that is mounted on the machine with a magnet.

The faults we most often encounter are bearing faults, imbalance, alignment faults, looseness and poor foundations. The advantage of vibration measurement is that we can come on board and measure during operation. You do not need to shut down your machines.

Condition monitoring

We can assist you in performing condition monitoring and checking machines for early faults such as:

We perform these tests on, among other things: Generator, motor, reduction gear, pumps, etc. It may be advantageous to have a condition check carried out as a pre-dock service so that you know which components need replacing.

Condition monitoring of marine generator

One task could be to assess the condition of a generator during a shipyard stay. The measurements are taken during nominal operation of the generator system, so we just need to go on board and take the measurements.

How long will it take and how will the task be completed?

Vibration measurement on a generator takes approximately one hour. Within two days, we will send you a condition report with recommendations for component replacement and conclusions about their condition.

What equipment can we use to measure vibrations?

Generally speaking, vibration measurement can be used on all rotating machinery, as well as to measure structural vibrations. However, the most common applications are:

Online monitoring

Let us keep a close eye on your equipment with an online condition monitoring system. No surprises or unexpected breakdowns. We also offer training and education for your on-board personnel if you prefer to have your own staff review the data.

The vibration sensors are mounted on carefully selected equipment, where cables are connected to a data collector. From the data collector, a network cable runs to a work PC, where all data can be accessed. Everything is delivered in a complete package, so it is plug-and-play.
